Inprocessing

Well inprocessing wasn't too horrible, except for the fact I was turned away the first day from medical because I was not properly input in the system when I arrived. Both the XO and myself had our Medical and Mobilization files in order so once all the inprocessing onto the base was completed properly we were able to go through medical, and the inprocessing briefs fairly quickly. Now I have several classes on First Aid, Iraqi Culture, Etc to go through over the next few days so the XO and I can join our unit.

Welcome To Texas!

Well the plane ride wasn't to bad, I met up and traveled with my XO from the airport to our destination in TX. Luckily our commander and 1SG had the forethought to not trust anyone else to pick us up which was planned, but of course wasn't executed. So they picked us up and brought us to FT Bliss. Accommodations are not too bad, we are staying in a huge white tent in what is known as tent city. There are showers between the two huge bays and we stay in bunks with mattresses. The mess hall is also one huge white tent as is the laundry and about everything else in the area. Temporary housing I would assume. Today the XO and I begin inprocessing. Fun Fun

FIELD ARTILLERY: KING OF BATTLE Posted by Hello

The Adventure Begins

Well I am on my way to Ft Bliss, Tx to join my new unit which will be deploying to Iraq with for Operation Iraqi Freedom III as a Fire Support Officer. I just got home on the 16th of July from Ft. Sill, Oklahoma where I was for just over 4 1/2 months for OBC. I had to pull some strings while at OBC to change units IOT deploy with this artilley unit, of course I will be a few weeks late in joining them. I look forward to beginning my experience as an officer in a combat zone. JM
