Take care of it.

Hmm what to do here. My team was told to investigate this UXO ( a 60mm mortar round) along the side of the road by higher with guidance to take care of it. It was reported by another unit who for some reason was traveling in our district and they reported it and left it to my team to deal with. It looked to me like it was at least a decade old and was placed here recently. I determined it wasn't an IED because there was no detonation device or wires so I picked it up to dispose of it. It was inert with no fuse or explosive material inside. Well I guess it might make a good souvenir.
